Manager Kerry Parry kparry@mpdgp.com.au Brenda Fehring bfehring@mpdgp.com.au Practice Staff Networks Bi-monthly Practice Staff Network meetings are held in Echuca/Moama and the Charlton region throughout the year. These provide an excellent opportunity for practice staff to receive quality education & training as well as network with other practice staff from across the region. Many “brilliant ideas” have been developed through these meetings! Murray-Plains Division of General Practice has a long history of engagement with practice staff that commenced with bimonthly meetings for Practice Managers in 1997. The first Practice Staff Weekend for Practice Managers, Nurses and other practice staff was held in February, 1999 at Ravenswood, Victoria. These weekends have continued with the 8th Annual Weekend taking place in May 2007 at Bendigo. 2000: Ravenswood Historical Homestead, Bendigo (Kerry Parry & Judy Roberts) 2001: Derby Hill Camp, Maldon (Kerry Parry & Judy Roberts) 2002: Murray Downs Resort, Swan Hill (Kerry Parry & Danielle Scoullar) 2003: Murray Downs Resort, Swan Hill (Kerry Parry, Danielle Scoullar) 2004: Barham RSL Services Club (Kerry Parry, Nikki Crichton) 2005: Barham RSL Services Club (Kerry & Kathleen Parry) 2006: Comfort Resort Moama (Kerry & Kathleen Parry, Brenda Fehring) 2007: All Seasons Motor Lodge Bendigo (Brenda Fehring, Kerry Parry) Nurses in General Practice (NiGP) Support for NiGP was first offered to Divisions in 2005 The objectives of the program are to: Provide nursing support programs Increase the uptake of practice nursing PIP payments or MBS practice nurse items; Increase the number of practice nurses undertaking training in key priority or competency areas.
