General Practice Immunisation Incentive Scheme (GPII)

The aim of the GPII is to encourage at least 90% of practices to fully immunise 90% of children less than seven years attending their practices.  Currently the Murray-Plains Division is ranked 3rd Nationally and 2nd in Victoria.

To achieve this impressive record involves teamwork in the Practice.  GPs, Practice Nurses, Practice Managers, Reception and Billing staff all play a vital role, from giving the injections to correctly billing, recording and transmitting the encounters to implementing recall/reminder systems, data cleansing, fridge logging and vaccine ordering.  When you consider how many steps are in this process, with many opportunities for errors, it is credit to the Murray-Plains Division Practices who have successfully implemented and maintained systems to manage this process, which is a fantastic achievement.

To support the immunisation program, Murray-Plains Division offers a vaccine fridge logging service. To arrange for the fridge loggers contact Fiona McEniry.
