Murray Plains Division of General Practice is a QICSA Accredited organisation.

More Allied Health Services (MAHS)

The MAHS Program was established in 2001 to help rural communities gain better access to allied health services and to address rural health workforce shortages.  MAHS also supports better links between the GP and the allied health sector, allowing the GP to focus on general practice.

The local model of service delivery represents a collaborative partnership between Murray-Plains as fund holder and a number of other agencies as employer and service provider.  Services are provided to clients referred by local general practitioners at appropriate premises.  Services include assessments, intake and referral; case management; individual and group activity; and participation in case conferences and care planning sessions with General Practitioners.

As of June 2008, the range of contracted allied health services funded by the MAHS program across the Murray-Plains area, to which local GPs can refer, delivered over 4500 clinical services for the year (an increase of almost 20% on 06/07).
